A SAFARI IN THE SABI SANDS

I was lucky enough to be invited on an educational in the Sabi Sands in South Africa. It was an amazing experience. The wildlife. The guides. And the lodge, Leopard Hills, was just amazing.

We went on a 4x4 adventure with Scrappy, our Subaru, to Theewaterskloof Dam. What we found was that we could drive at the bottom of the dam... on the sand where the water used to be. Crazy!

DIY GREYWATER SYSTEM FOR A SHOWER-BATH

We recently installed a greywater system for our shower bath so that we didn't have to carry our bathwater downstairs to the garden in buckets. We plug the bath and collect our shower water (it's a bit gross when you have to step into cold water, but #sacrifice).

OUTDOOR SPACES

We moved into a new place recently. It's a little duplex with a small garden. For so long, I've dreamt of having a garden! Turns out they're quite a lot of work and I have been thinking about how to turn this outdoor space, which is much like any other room, into a comfortable place where we'll want to chill and hang out.

Most of the garden is in full sun during the morning and midday so I'm only planting water-wise plants and succulents. I get seduced at nursery visits and end up buying pretty, fluffy plants that soon die.
