STREET FASHION IN SEOUL

Dusk is the best time to be in Hongdae. Around this time, the clothing and accessoires stalls are being set up. The lights are switched on and lanterns are hung. We drank black ice coffees at the corner cafe, as crowds walked past.

First dates.
Fashionistas.
Window shoppers.
Wonder Girl imitators.

It's the end of spring and the new summer wardrobe had to make its first appearance. Even the men make an effort. Here are some of my best Korean shots of the coolest people on the streets.

BEST SHOPPING DESTINATION IN SEOUL

The best place to shop in Seoul is Hongdae market. At night or during the day, it is always a buzz with activity. The cutest accessories such as little key/heart/ bird pendants can be found here. Shoes come in all shapes and styles. Most clothes from China. Hats and caps. Rings and bracelets. Korean fashion is cheap, cheap, cheap!

IT'S A BOYS' NIGHT OUT (WELL KINDA)

Seoul at night is a magical creature.
The metropolis is abuzz with lights, music and beats.
The smog and ugliness of the day are erased.
Streets are lined with fashion stalls, nightclubs, restaurants and pubs.
Suddenly, everyone is awake.

Fashion and party frolickers trawl the streets always on the search for the newest amusement.
There is a subculture for everyone here: one nightclub specialises in imported Belgium beer, another in loud hip-hop and yet another, offers the original Korean experience: meat and “soju”.

Most themed bars and nightclubs, in the suburb Hong-dae, are small and cramped at night. Hundreds line the network of streets. It is an unforgettable and magical experience.

STREET FASHION: SINCHON SUBURB IN SEOUL

Sinchon is in walking distance to Ewha Women's University. It's a friendly, little suburb in the center of Seoul. Small coffee shops and clothing stalls line the main road. Shin Ki Won, a student with perfect English skills, caught our eye. He loves fashion and his bright Paul Smith bag.

STREET STYLE IN SEOUL

Ehwa's Women University is famous in Seoul. It's an elite university that I've been told is difficult to get into. Situated just outside the campus is the aptly named "Fashion Street". It lies on the way from the subway to the University grounds. Handy, hey? Lined with shoe, accessories and clothing shops, it neighbours the suburbs of Sinchon and Hongdae. It's a crowded grid and fashion haven. Here, girls rule the world!
