ORDER IN DISORDER

Those close to me know that I like things to be organised. But no matter how often I clean my room, the kitchen, my desk...the pile of dreadfully important documents growing steadily, the dust collecting under couch and bed, and odd things accumulating (paint tubes, bicycle parts and unopened letters). They appear, as if out of nowhere, to unorder the order that was my life.

I BLAME COCO

I blame Coco is headed up by Sting's daughter, Coco. She's the coolest, grungiest girl in the music business and has developed her own fashion style. It's a mixture of adrogynous menswear with a rebellious teen spirit. Her voice has similarities to her father's but is too unique for comparison.

PHOTOGRAPHY TECHNIQUE: BOKEH

"Bokeh" is a Japanese term that refers to the aesthetic blur in photographs. It is a camera technique that occurs only when using a shallow depth of field. The areas that blur lie outside of the depth of field. Light can beautifully create any shapes: octagons, hearts or circles.

UNLOCK MY HEART

Tiffany's key chains.

The new accessories obsession are antique keys strung on string or silver necklaces. Here are some examples of luciously decorated pieces that used to grace castles centuries ago.

JE T'AIME...

Images of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg are still one of the most iconic images of the 70s era. He was the writer; and she his gorgeous muse.

HEDI SLIMANE'S LATEST PHOTOSHOOT

Hedi Slimane is one of my favourite photographers. This man really owes his career to Yves Saint Laurent who hired him as head menswear designer in 1996. Later on, he started designing for Christian Dior. Known as a charming polymath, he is a photographer and artist too.

A CUTE POEM: I CAN'T TELL YOU...

My very special friend from Cape Town sent me this beautiful poem today from Margaret Atwood today.

I Can't Tell You

I can't tell you my name: you don't believe I have one
I can't warn you this boat is falling
you planned it that way

You've never had a face
but you know that appeals to me
You are old enough to be my
skeleton: you know that also.

I can't tell you I don't want you
the sea is on your side
You have the earth's nets

I only have a pair of scissors.
When I look for you I find
water or moving shadow
when you are lost already.

HOME SWEET HOME

What do I think of when I hear the word "home"? Here are some images that evoke a feeling of heimat to me. Sometimes the idea of "home" cannot be translated into words. Often, smells and sounds trigger these memories more evocatively than words can.
